Is the gift a tangible object? If so smaller/larger than a house? a car? a toaster? an ant?

Did past you intend for it to be a gift for future you?

"Thoughtful" in the sense of : having sentimental meaning? sympathetic?

Did the past you forecast something that would have happened to your future self? Or maybe a possibility? Something you did not need in the past but you would have needed in the future? If so because of a relevant change intervened? A baby born? You moved? You changed job? You got injured? COVID happened?

Is the gift about: food? Health care? technology? writings? papers? money? your house? travels? booking something? music? Events? Avoiding something?

Is the gift something that nobody except yourself could have made to the future you? If so, a letter to yourself? a remainder? something that you knew in the past and was unnecessary at that time but you knew it would have been useful in the future (e.g. the possibility of working in order to exploit vacations later on?; not using/consuming something in order for you to exploit in the future?))?

Did you know where the gift was? Did you remember of it (in contrast you could have made an investment or played one out of many lottery tickets that gave you a delayed win) ? If so, did you open/take it in a relevant moment? Was it planned that you opened/took it in that precise moment?

WAG: did you move from place A to place B, but knew that you would have come back to place B and so organize everything for your future self when coming back (e.g. a WELCOME billboard and notes on how to deal with every possible situation: number of electrician, plumber and so on...)? Did you set up a surprise party for yourself?

Did the past you forecast something that would have happened to your future self? Yes. Or maybe a possibility? A certainty. Something you did not need in the past but you would have needed in the future? If so because of a relevant change intervened? A baby born? You moved? You changed job? You got injured? COVID happened? No to all.

Is the gift about: food? Health care? technology? This.writings? papers? money? your house? And this. travels? booking something? music? Events? And this (DOYD of "event".) Avoiding something? Sort of.

Is the gift something that nobody except yourself could have made to the future you? Correct. If so, a letter to yourself? a remainder? something that you knew in the past and was unnecessary at that time but you knew it would have been useful in the future (e.g. the possibility of working in order to exploit vacations later on?; not using/consuming something in order for you to exploit in the future?))? No to all.

Did you know where the gift was? Yes. Did you remember of it (in contrast you could have made an investment or played one out of many lottery tickets that gave you a delayed win) ? Yes. If so, did you open/take it in a relevant moment? Yes. Was it planned that you opened/took it in that precise moment? Not precise, but approximate.

Nice thought, but no to all.

Did you purchase something for yourself? If so, a subscription of some kind? A service? Something that was scheduled to start at a later date? A ticket for something? Did the gift have both tangible and intangible parts?

Is the gift a computer file? A phone app? Something that exists on the internet? Something that can be stored on a computer or smartphone?

Is the gift virtual (like gold/items in a MMORPG)? Does it exist independently of a specific device?

Does the gift cost money? No (the tangible thing does, but...) --> does it save money? (e.g. solar panels cost money but they allow you to save them ass well. Maybe the gift is the day in which you managed to amortize completely the expenses of the solar panels); does the gift provide money (e.g. you bough an investment assistant)? Does it allow to save time? To act remotely (e.g. cameras in the house)? Something that made a task automatic? Are money involved?

Is the gift something that nobody except yourself could have made to the future you? Correct. --> because you and only you knew what would have happened? Knew what you would have done/decided to do? If so, in a specific day? A festivity? A surprise for others? Something that you did not want to reveal to others?
Or maybe because it is about something you secretly enjoy? Or maybe about a physical change that would have intervened? Is it something that anyone know about him/herself? Is it something that will occur for sure? Regularly? Once a year? Or maybe a recurrence like pi-day? The 4th of May? a "personal" event? The day in which you have to change a password?

Or maybe a possibility? A certainty --> a birthday (your birthday?)? the day when you went to ask for a loan? The day in which

Did you spend money to "buy" the technological device? Did someone else?

Is it a technological device? Yes. Does it use electricity? Yes. --> electricity coming from your house? is it an appliance? Do you mainly use it in thee kitchen? Bathroom? Bedroom? Everywhere in the house? Its it a safety device? An alarm? A device commonly employed by people in houses? Are they lights? Christmas lights? Neons? A TV? A phone? vacuum cleaner? A technological device substituting an old one? An upgrade? A registration that you made in the past? A video? A vocal registration? a vocal memo?

did you open/take it in a relevant moment? Yes. --> Did the past you book the gift? Had the past you the possibility to take/buy/bring the gift at that time? If so, would you have bought/taken/brought it in the past?
