[Doriana] Part of a series

Postby Doriana » Tue Dec 15, 2020 1:52 pm

A pessimist would say that it happened in one of the worst possible places. An optimist would say that it happened in one of the best possible places. Personally, I just hope it won't happen again.

What happened, and where?

All it = the same, I = Doriana = H/A/F

It: an accident? Disaster? War? Bad thing? Good thing? Both? Neither? Are the consequences of this thing relevant? Did it happen to: people? Animals? Life forms? Machines? The Earth? Something bigger?

Did it happen in a specific place? A specific time? A specific group of people (or animals)?

Is it a singular event, or something that goes on for a while? Is the environment relevant?

Noish to accident--> was a bad situation intentionally caused by someone else? Theft? Assault? Murder?
Did the person intentionally do something they knew would have negative consequences? Is illness involved? Embarrassment?

Did it happen in a place where people would be around to help? Or where the situation could be quickly resolved? Would the optimist say it was the best place because it "builds character," i.e., good for the person in the long run?

Was the person it happened to HAM? Can we call him Bob? Was Bob injured? Killed? Stabbed? Shot? Run over by a vehicle? Run over by an ambulance perhaps? Maybe in front of the hospital?

Are the places referenced by the pessimist and optimist the same place? Or perhaps Bob was injured in a bad place on his body but in a good location such as in front of a hospital where he could quickly receive treatment?

Did it happen during a job interview? A relevant event (a marriage/funeral/Christmas lunch)? In front of an audience? In the metro? In a bus? During a Skype call? While you were talking with someone relevant? Inside a church? Inside a museum? Restaurant? house? Building producing echo? a disco? a place where etiquette is important? a theatre?

technology relevant? E.g. automatic access to wi-fi that implied the reproduction of a video that you were watching before...

Did it happen to: people? One person --> you? I am making the questions below assuming so. If not, please I rephrase the questions with the other subject.

Is it something physical (I mean sweating/having to urgently go to the bathroom)? Or maybe manifesting a symptom in thee worst possible moment (e.g. "I do not feel tastes" during a boring lunch, which led the others think that you had COVID: a pessimist would say that it happened in the worst moment, an optimist would say that you were lucky. to escape from that lunch)

Noish to accident--> was a bad situation intentionally caused by someone else? Theft? Assault? Murder? No to all
Did the person intentionally do something they knew would have negative consequences? No Is illness involved? Yope Embarrassment? No

Did it happen in a place where people would be around to help? Yes Or where the situation could be quickly resolved? This too Would the optimist say it was the best place because it "builds character," i.e., good for the person in the long run? No

Was the person it happened to HAM? H/A/F Can we call him Bob? It was me, see below, so for consistency I'd rather not call myself Bob Was Bob injured? No, but... Killed? Stabbed? Shot? Run over by a vehicle? Run over by an ambulance perhaps? No to rest Maybe in front of the hospital? But this is OTRT (minus the ambulance part)

Are the places referenced by the pessimist and optimist the same place? Yes Or perhaps Bob was injured in a bad place on his body but in a good location such as in front of a hospital where he could quickly receive treatment? Good idea, but no (again, however, OTRT)

JenBurdoo
Is this a real event? Yes A historic one? No Were there witnesses other than the person it happened to? Not to the event itself, but to what happened afterwards

Did it occur at a hospital? Doctor's office? Laboratory? Somewhere else with medical personnel? Or close to/in front of one of these locations? The optimist saying it's the best possible place: is this because there are medical professionals on hand to assist you? Is there more to it than that?

Was it an event that actually required medical intervention? Or maybe something that doctors could help with, but you could also get through on your own?

Would it be one of the worst possible places for reasons having to do with: your job? friends? family? The situation being reported/told to someone? A possible overreaction? The location's proximity or distance to somewhere else?

Did it take place in/near an actual medical setting? Or were the medical people there for other reasons? Was there a convention of doctors nearby? A group of doctor gathered for informal reasons (like to grab lunch together)? Did it happen while you were on vacation, thereby ruining the vacation? And there happened to be a bunch of doctors at the same hotel/restaurant/bar for their convention/dinner/drinks?

Is part of the bad thing being bad that it causes injury? Pain? Other unpleasant perceptions? Incapacitation? Material loss? Fear? Embarrassment? Loss of time?

Is the main purpose of the place nearby a medical one? Or is it a place for another purpose that requires the presence of some medical people (e.g. a sports stadium with some medical personnel present to treat injured athletes)?

Does the bad thing in this case indeed cause injury? If so: Is the place where this happened a reason for injury to occur? To be more severe than usual? Same questions for pain and incapacitation.

Is the place where this happened a reason for other unpleasant perceptions to be more severe than usual?

Unpleasant perceptions: Nausea? Dizziness? An urge to sneeze and/or cough? Hearing a particularily nasty noise? Feeling very hot? Very cold? A visual perception? A smell? Taste? Tickling?

Did you lose consciousness from an impact? No From dizziness? I felt dizzy and then fainted, but you should find out why I was dizzy in the first place
Was there an athletic trainer nearby? Lacrosse relevant? No to both, but always a good idea to ask about lacrosse in my puzzles

Was the fainting caused by something you saw? Heard? Sensed?
Was the site a place where medical personnel are employed? Or just usually frequent (a coffee shop next to a hospital, for example)?

If you had been at another place at that same moment - like inside your own house - would you have still fainted? At that same time? Or did the fainting only happen because of something at that certain place?
Was the fainting related to an emotion? A sensation? A response?

RECAP: I fainted near a medical setting. The reason I fainted was directly related to the medical setting. Optimists might say this was a good place to faint because there was medical personnel nearby to help me, but pessimists might say it was a bad place to faint because the risk of injury and pain was higher than usual. Left to find out: Why did I faint and where exactly did it happen?
